    2391 "Passed"

I did an MEng in Electronic and Electrical Engineering 15 years ago and I was more worried about this exam than my degree!! I think it's got a bit of a reputation and that alone makes it daunting! It's not an easy exam and you do have to really know your stuff and then they can throw you a...

    How our perceptions change.

I went to the Edinburgh fringe last year, one the shows was Faulty Towers "The Germans" episode. They had recreated the faulty towers restaurant perfectly. You could actually go in and sit down at a table in the restaurant and the sketch was recreated around around you. It was a cracking idea...

    How our perceptions change.

Go back to 70s early 80s TV and watch some of the stuff that was on. One I watched recently was The Generation Game with Larry Grayson, talking about his mate Ever Hard. I was shocked, this was on Saturday Night prime time and the stuff he was coming out with, I guess back then it was such an...

    Clamp Meter Readings

I reckon you have a dodgy clamp on metre and it's picking up something else nearby? Maybe Radio 4? I would as a test, check the compressor's insulation resistance down to earth, if it is a significant value 200M ohms + then disconnect the earth from it and measure it again, see what you get...

Disclaimer when changing fuse boards re faults

I always do a full PIR before I start as a matter of course, but this doesn't stop appliances creating a problem for you or borrowed neutrals in the upstairs downstairs lighting circuits, so you can't separate the upstairs and downstairs lighting onto two RCDs without a massive investigation...

Universe's highest electric current found 10^18 Amps

25 metres long and 563 Kilometres in diameter, sounds about right!! The house will probably be in constant shadow so the lights would be handy and it will be easy for Santa :Welcome: to find his house. ---------- Post Auto-Merged at 20:44 ---------- Previous post was made at 20:27 ----------...

    Part Rewire

I would not think so. Some people have an upstairs ring and a downstairs ring and that's it. Just label it up identifying the circuits on the C.U. and on the Installation Certificate under circuit designation write "front room, hall and kitchen" for that circuit, sorted!

    Part Rewire

^+1 The kitchen does not have to be on it's own circuit as long as you label it up.
