HI all back on nite shift

A 2.5 kw heater is in use for 7.5 hours daily and energy cost 7.1p per unit. the total cost of running the heater over a month of 28 days is =

Hi -

This whole question hinges on knowing that a unit is 1 kWh.

Once you've got this you can work it all out from basic maths - ie no of kWh = no of kW x no of hours. Total cost is no of kWh x cost per kWh.

This is a basic question - but others can be complicated by putting in non standard units - minutes Watts, Megawatts etc - so you will have to know how to convert to to the required units to get the sum right.
