The prices some people put in these days are unreal, given up arguing now I just leave them my card and tell them they know where I am once the 5ww/cowboy is finished

Have to say with the council work though I did a lot of it a few years back it was 1400 a rewire with fans smoke alarms etc on as extras if the houses didn't already have them or 750 for an update which was mains wired smoke alarms, new accessories a db change and test, any remedial work found in the testing was an extra as well. Usually done by 3 lads rewire was a week an update was 2 days always occupied and everything was chased and patched we left the houses spotless (usually a lot cleaner than when we entered) they used good gear as well aico smokes, Wylex boards with rcbos and bg accessories it was all supplied by the council too

Team of 4, well that's £800 then materials on top of that, what are they monkeys getting paid peanuts, that's a joke if its correct.
Round here couincil rewires pay £400 a job to be split between a spark a mate and a labourer....told them where they could go take a long run....off a short pier.

I just priced up an extension for 21k after working on the other part of the house

a

builder quoted 10k for the electrics not realising it needs 2 cu's once the old one has been relocated while the garage gets demolished

quoted 4k for 2 flat conversions

3k for an extension and cu move

both those jobs I have without other quotes

not a bad reputation for a 5ww !!!!!!!!

thats a BIG extension,!
