Does this price seem ok

Been asked to quote for some electrical work at a property that is having an extension built. The quote is for a builder and this is my first quote for him so I want to get it right, it could lead to much more work. The property is a semi detached with wooden floors. The house is being extended (single storey) at the side and rear to form a downstairs cloak room, store room, utility room and enlarged kitchen/dining room. The kitchen dining room is to have sloped ceilings with 4 velox 'windows'.

The work is as follows

To give you a guide having not seen it I would probably price it at 1 to 1 1/4 hours per point + materials.... CU change at 1/2 day if needed

to be honest mate i think its a bit on the dear side. No offence of course.

bonding and pendants seem fine, mains smoke alarm is a little dear 15quid plus 40quid fitting I'd do it roughly.

Sockets are a bit dear too, i tend to go for 40quid a socket if its in an existing property and just one or two, but more and the fact yours will be partly in a new build will make it a lot easier. I'd say more 300quid.

Downlights are way over the odds, more like a bit over 300 depending.

Thats just my opinion mate, you may have higher running costs than me or are able to charge more in your area. Oh and i think you'll complete it in a lot less than 60hours.

ks for your advice, I thought it was OTT when I reckoned it up. Will rethink it along your guide lines. It's just a litle daunting when quoting for a new extension especially as this is the biggest job I've quoted for.

I base my prices on 1 hour per point. Obviously it depends on your hourly rate, but on your figures it looks like about

Builders like things cheap!! I know my dads one. I charged 200quid when he added a small bathroom in a downstairs hallway. I moved hallway light over, installed new light and switch in toilet, an extract and isolator. Suppying parts that was a fair price, he moaned that he was only making 60quid off me, cheeky bugger! Think he was miffed i made 2 x 1.5hr visits.
