Can anyone help please? I've just completed some work on a farm installation, changed a CU and installed some new circuits. I'm filling in the install cert but I can't remeber the frequency of PIR (sorry condition report) for agricultural installations.

I'm staying away from home and forgot to bring my books with me, so some help would be appreciated, thanks.

Routine check = one year, full inspection not more than 3 year intervals. Table 3.7 GN3, unless competent person deems more frequent inspections are required.

What if it were an agricultural COLLEGE? Is that a school or a farm or indeed if they charge fees commercial.....................

Hi there,

Makes no difference if it is a college, it is still a farm, because your design and installation and equipment selected, has to be suitable for the environment it is subjected to.

Likewise, makes no difference if you keep your goldfish in a bucket or a bowl, it is still underwater!!!!!!!

And on that theme, isn't it nominally one year between PIR's for a Fish Farm?

At home now job done, thanks for your help. The work was not in the house but a seperate supply to outbuildings.

I have also noticed a certain element of bodgeit, wires around fuses in plugs, re-using knackered and pre-historic gear. I usually have to persuade the customer that they really do need waterpoof switches etc and although it has been fine for 45 years the regs have now changed, it is for their own safety, RCDs are a must and so on...

I have taken a few photos that I will try to put up on the photo pages.

I had to laugh last yesterday, went to see parents new rental property, the housing association got a spark in to check over the electrics on the day of the move which was an exchange so people moving in and out on the same day!

Must have been a bit awkward for the sparky and probably the reason why he cxcked up and wrote inspection date and next inspection date as the same date and also never noticed the heating wasnt working either!
