Anybody do any work for One Property Place Ltd?

They called me today offering me periodics/pat'ing & periodic remedials in the RG postcode area.

The system works along the lines of:

  1. They get a request from letting agen/landlord for pir/pat.
  2. They then text sparks who are on their books for the given postal area giving details of job & the price to be charged (

Thats them Doc.

I'm just so untrusting of these types of calls, hence the post wondering if anybody else has been contacted by them.

they are telling you the price so ultimately you'll be getting less than normal.

no such thing as free :put the kettle on

What happens if cmr does not pay them, do they not pay you?

id be a bit jubious of these sorts of people tbh ;) the biten arse on come to mind :^O
:Applaud

My gut feeling is beware of the badgers bitten arse....

(are we allowed to say bitten arse?)

Whenever I am unsure about another business...

e.g. say buying something over the internet..

I will often do a few searches to try and suss out as much as possible...

From that website Doc highlighted there address is this place..

One Property Place

Grove Chambers,

36 Green Lane,

Wilmslow,

Cheshire SK9 1LD

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?ll=53.325807,-2.2320963&z=18&t=h&hl=en

But that particular company name doesn't appear on the Royal mail postcode finder yet....

http://postcode.royalmail.com/portal/rm/addressfinder;jsessionid=0YWPRLUT5GAMMFB2IGJFEOQ?catId=400145&pageId=pcaf_a_ma_results&_requestid=139513&gear=postcode

so maybe a new startup????

or change of trading name???

I don't think I would go along with it myself.

do a job, and see if it works. There are lots of middle men types around these days, but they have the advantage of time to sell & market services etc etc, so whilst its not ideal set-up for we who do the job, they can keep you employed when things go quite, like at christmas. Just don't trust them further than u can wee until you know them better.

To add to Specs words of wisdom:

It says in the "about" section

"One Property Place is run by the same team behind The National EPC Company, the sister company provider of Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs)."

[my bold]

So OPP is not a company in it's own right (so, that's why we can't find them at Companies house or on RM search). But, that leads to the question "who is/are the company behind OPP"?

None of the other companies with the name "One Property...." from the CH search I did have an address in Wilmslow.

There is a "National EPC Company" based in Worsley Manchester, though. But no other details. I found these on the interweb: http://blog.nepcco.co.uk/

So, ring them back. Say you're interested but have a few questions. Ask who they are, who backs them and where their clients come from. Also ask for a copy of the contract you'll be entering into. No one, but NO ONE, should ever enter into a contract without reading it and satisfying themselves of the terms and one presumes you'll have to enter into some contract with these people, so this should be a perfectly reasonable request. Ask about the issue of payment to you if the customer defaults.

Well I wasnt to happy to go along with the whole thing anyway just wondered if anybody else had been approached by them.

Anyway I did get a text message giving customer contact details (I hadn't said yes for definate or signed any type of contract or even seen any T&C) so thought I'd play along & called the customer on the moby number given in the text..

HIM "Hello F***** K***"

ME " Hello there I've been asked by One property to contact you with regard to undertaking the electrical testing of your white goods at your rented property"

HIM "Erm they were done last Monday or Tuesday"

ME "Oh right, you are Mr F***** K*** living at 1 ******* Rd Reading RG* *** "

HIM "Yes"

ME "Well sorry for the mix up, I have been misinformed about the job, again sorry to have disturbed you"

So not worth the bother..........I have emailed the company concerned to tell them their fool proof & easy system doesnt work :slap
