No cpc at lights

What code would you give for a lighting circuit with no cpc? All accessories are plastic.

The house is rented out, so what if the tenant decides to change the light to metal?

Are they allowed to, most rented properties I deal with the tenants are not allowed to fiddle with the electrics.

I've been in houses after tenants have left and they have taken there light fittings and switches with them.

Well , one of my tenants took the Fire Alarm system with him!!

Yes, I'm afraid they do. I've put labels on the consumer unit to let the next electrician working on the lights know that there is no cpc.

If tenants are taking away switches and lights I would assume they will loose there deposit. I would think the landlord would need to ensure the property is safe before a new tenant moves in. A visual inspection by an electrical contractor would be needed. Any thing found would need to be put right after all the landlord has a duty of care. Renting is a too way thing after all.

Not total protection but definatly would put most off, you can get a free sample of Hafren M3.5 screws with this months PE, just had mine through.

And this is why GN3 recommends periodic testing on rented properties yearly or change of tenants.
