I can run my light full whack tomorrow, its been on for about an hour today, so I'll time it to flat tomoz,

then will time a full charge, and a full discharge,

on another [albeit similar] note, someone care to recommend a good headlight?

I always seem to get the rubbish ones somehow, either eat batteries, or simply fail after a couple of weeks,,,,,,,,

I have used one of these for the past 10+ years. Gives a good amount of light for close range working, it doesn't seem to eat batteries and the beauty is it doesn't cost a fortune so unlikely to be half-hinched! Must admit I usually pay between £8-£10, but then haven't bought one for a good number of years. The only small issue is with constant use you get the imprint of the foam pad on your forehead!

I use a petzl tactikka plus had it for 2 years now and it's still going strong you can get 2-3 days of it being used for full shifts or if just light use I've had to put batteries in it every 6 weeks or so, only downside is they aren't cheap mine cost me 20 quid

Head torches..........I have a LEDLites that takes x3 AAA (from TLC I think). Blindingly bright and very lightweight - the batteries sit at the back off your head:

On a whim I also bought half a dozen copies of the Draper head torch off of eBay a while back - 4 or 8 LED settings. I'd been using the Draper version until I got the LEDLites one. Take x4 AA - obviously heavier than the LEDLites but lasts a lot longer as not so bright. Think they were £2.50 each. Couldn't resist the eBay ad "being sold cheap as instructions in French" - managed to figure it out though.

In Electricfix the other day and bought this little x3 AA LED torch on the counter. My similar Gerber one rolled under a floor board where I knew there were rats and I'm ashamed to say it's still there! £4.99 and again blindingly bright! BUT I had to have it apart and remove the stray component lead wire that made it work intermittent. The main reason for buying though was so I could say "Look at my RING!":

i have 2 PETZL Myo head torches.....bought both for a fiver from my " corner shop" a few years ago.

BUT i think they are too good for everyday use so I bought a Clas Ohlson Asaklit head torch. 1 led/ 2 led......brilliant!

i use it with rechargeable batteries.

taking grandaughters to Centre Parc nex week....bought them each a £ 1.79 head torch from CPC (corner shop) so they can runnaround in the dark

just lighting the way

whoops, it would appear ASKAKLIT does not mean torch...must be a brand name

torch is this one

We'll took the Screwfix. Work light off charge this morning at 07.00hrs put it on at 13.00 hrs was flat and out by 15.40 hrs. Waste of money IMO.

Roll on the new one tomorrow.

Screwfix one seems tempremental. Fully charged mine sunday used it for 2 hours monday and then for another 2 hours today before it went flat....but since its not so reliable i awiat the outcome of this test to purchase a better one and screwfix one can live in the corner as a emergency back up.

I've used it as a single light source for caesarian sections. You need something you can trust as plugging it in to charge for an hour not a realistic option.

Small, lightweight and massive output. I have a bit of a torch problem and this is my favourite (I've got a couple of Petzl head torches I have not used since buying this).

Well it's no good for changing a cu in a dark garage!

Flippin thing went dead, half way through a 17 way board, good job I had the trusty headlight in the van, she saved the day.

JAYSUS...!!!!

Im a spark, NOT a vet,

we dont all earn that sort of money.....!!!!!!
Toolstation do Patch's LEDLenser one for just over £20 but just the head torch, no car adapter / charger etc. They also have my LEDLites head one for just over £10.
