I purchased a  CN-350b nailer. It works ok but there is always air escaping from the exhaust  even when not firing. I assumed that is a seal problem. as such i ordered a new set of o rings. Does anyone know how to fit them?

Thanks

a bit more about the nailer might help,

make etc, a model number isnt much use, unless its Elle McPherson that the number belongs too,

thats a model whose number Id like,  :)

oh, another point, is your compressor set to the pressure the nailer can take?

set too high and it may be a let off,

or you may indeed have blown a seal,

are your lips salty?  :|

good call. the air nailer i gave to my son [before I got a Paslode or two] had a habit of blowing off more than a flatulent Nun if the op pressure was too high on the compressor....mind you, it set the pins quite deep

Maybe we can help each other here! I have a CN-350........an earlier model I think as in lacking the "B" suffix. This is mine:

I tried the nice people at L D Leigh in Chesterfield and they sent me a PDF strip down diagram parts list for the nearest they have which is actually your one' the 350B. PM me your email address and I'll send that to you for a start. I stripped my gun down, cleaned everything and even de-greased the cast body so it was spotless.

I have replaced every single O-ring and seal. Basically a case of take one off, size it against the new set and fit that. Everything is back together and lubed up with proper tool oil. I actually ended up getting my seal kit from the States from professor_foam eBay. I got the kit for the CN-350B and paid $14.48 + $8.56 shipping

My PROBLEM is though the same as it was before; The gun will "cock" and fire a single 90mm nail. BUT the firing pin won't then return to allow the long magazine spring to load the next nail. If the pull the trigger now the gun just jumps and leaves an impression of the gun tip in the wood. Mine also appears to have air escaping constantly.

Must admit I've not tried varying the pressure - just used the compressor as it was set for the smaller, working nail guns.

all my nailers are gas powered, however Google provides the following gobbit of info
I'm not understanding what that bloke is saying. his voice is really gruff. is he showing where the o rings go? Sorry for the late reply. i expect emai l to tell me someone had repllied, it didn't

this keeps rejecting my posts for posting links even though i haven't put any links in it.

I've borrowed an imperial drive set top open this. at the moment ive got the exhaust back end ope,. There is one large spring and only one o ring which looked a bit perished so i replaced it..  I can't help thinking there should be more than one in here. I've seen the schamitic which says so but not sure where they should go.

That video was ok but i can't see detail. I need to know where the o rings go. also do they have exact sizes. i have a kit but can buy imperial sets with loads of o rings in. I'm assuming they are standard. AS for pressure. i a;ways like to know the pressure of my tools. i understand this particular one will allow 8 bar. although i find 100 psi works for my nailers including this one.

i never drive them on maximum pressure so if a seal has blown then i've not blown it. Anyway i got a new set of o rings for approximate the price mentioned  by onoff but cheaper postage. not bad considering it was from America to Britain.  Anyway as i say in the back where the exhaust in a  find only one o ring. is that right? I think there should be more.
