I get a call from a customer at 10 this morning, who has had my quote for the best part of 3 weeks "yes can we accept the quotation & book the work for  Thursday/Friday"

SBS is away next week & i need a cu with rcbo's.

Another big thank you to SBS Dave, Bank holiday & he has still taken my (rather late in the day) order, is in the process of building it, calls me & assures me I will have it for Wednesday.

The Chinese shipment arrived this morning, so I am back in stock of all sizes (for now!!)

M107 - Your board was shipped this morning, for Wednesday delivery, as promised.

kme - your 2 boards are now completed and will be picked up tomorrow, for delivery Thursday.

That leaves 2 other boards for non-Forum customers, which I shall build tomorrow.

After that, unless it is an emergency job, it will be after my holiday.

Got back from holiday on Friday and I hope everyone received their orders.

My new Electricfix catalogue had arrived, with an offer for a BG 6-way 17th Edition board for £35.00 + VAT and a BG Garage Unit for £18.00 + VAT.

Quite clearly there is price war on and I can't compete with the big boys in this market, so I am pulling the plug on small 17th Edition Boards and conventional Garage Units.

Fortunately, I am probably the cheapest in town for standard RCBOs (assembled at no extra cost) and probably the only one selling a comprehensive range of Compact RCBOs, with custom busbars and FOC assembly.

Unless there is a compelling reason to do otherwise, I shall stick to my specialist area, selling only to the Trade and let the other "Trade Outlets" fight it out, selling to any tradesmen, registered or not,  any DIYers and any potential customers of yours.

I could do a 10-way or 12-way board with Compact RCBOs, that would probably fit in the available space, shown in the photo. If you go ahead with this job, let me know the max. height of a board, so that I can come up with some concrete suggestions.

LAST NIGHT, I WORKED UNTIL 10.00PM GETTING OUT ORDERS AND I AM STILL UP TO MY ANKLES IN ORDERS YET TO SHIP!!!.

This is starting to get quite embarrassing, running out of stock, even though I have considerably upped my stock levels.

Yesterday, I asked one TEF member to reduce his order, one member to switch to my Standard RCBOs, two customers to shuffle between 16A and 20A Compacts, all in order to satisfy orders already received. Fortunately, everyone agreed and understood my dilemma. I am a victim of my own success and also thanks to YOU B******DS (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE), WHO KEEP RE-ORDERING MY STUFF!!! Seriously though, many thanks for your support.

It is going to take me the rest of the day to sort out who needs what and then do a mini-inventory. New stocks are already on order, but as usual, it could be 3-4 weeks before they arrive.

Got a Proforma Invoice from China yesterday and we transferred funds the same day. Now just waiting for confirmation of funds in the manufacturers bank and they will give me an approx. ship date. My best possible guess is that it will be mid-July.

As done previously, I now list my remaining stock of Compacts:-

You can see the effect the latest demand for 16A and 20A have had on my stock levels, with many people moving away from ring circuits, in favour of radials.

I have also had a large demand for the 16A for Event / Stage applications and also caravan parks.  These are new markets for me, so I could not have anticipated this increase demand.

Hopefully, I can keep a few of you going until new stocks arrive, but in the meantime, I can still supply 10KA Standard RCBOs at the best price in the UK.

I DID TAKE ON BOARD YOUR EARLIER COMMENTS ABOUT THE WYLEX  REC2S SERVICE ISOLATOR SWITCH.

So, I bought myself a few.

Checking around prices again, they range from about £15.00 to £19.00 + VAT. The exception is RS Components, who have them at £10.10 + VAT, although they seem to be a different animal in their photo and may no longer have them.

You can buy 50 of them from RS for £9.09, if they still have them, so let's call that the Benchmark.

So here's the deal. When you place an order for a DB or separate components (not including the REC2S), to the value of £100.00 or more, not inc postage or VAT, then I will supply 1 x REC2S in the same shipment for £10.00 + VAT. This will not increase the cost of postage and the 10% discount the order attracts, will mean that the true cost to you will be £9.00 + VAT, cheaper than RS price for 50 off.

This is a limited offer while stocks last, as I won't be able to repeat this deal.

GUESS WHAT, CANOEBOY, I'M ON HOLIDAY AGAIN !!!

We are heading down to Kent, for our annual get-together with 4 friends. We pick a different destination every year and stay at an Allister Sawday (can't remember the spelling) recommended B & B.

We will be gone from Monday 7th to Friday11th July. I can handle any last minute orders over the weekend, for pick up Monday, delivery Tuesday, IF I HAVE THE STOCK.
