Schneider Consumer Units

Hi all,

Im just looking for your thoughts & experiences with Schneider consumer units & MCB`s.

Ive used MK C.U`s recently & wasnt too impressed. Plus, the product recall has put me off them a little.

My local Toolstation had the Schneider C.U`s on display today at resonable prices.

Just wondering if theyre any good or what everyone else uses.

Before Merlin Gerin became part of Schneider I always used MG 3 ph boards....best boards ever in the history of the world....end of!

Still the same now BUT a different name. 1ph boards were just as good but did not use many on domestics

Always use Telemecanique control gear at work and think it's great. Everything is now branded Schneider but can only hope the quality has bled over to their domestic cu stuff too.

They are old Sq D types as far as I can tell.

As an apprentice I used to fit loads of sq D and thought it was good,

No idea of the more recent quality though. :|

Ive used the Square D Domae range in  the past very impressed good quality enclosures plenty of space for routing the wiring inside, The MCBs and RCDs where the same as the Merlin ones.

Good quality for a decent price last month my local Neweys had a ten way dual RCD unit with MCBs for £50+VAT

What sold them to me was the slider on the busbar....as long as you rememeber to slide the bar over before you fit the cover!!!
