today i got an email from NICEIC

"The latest update to BS7671 will include a new section on electric vehicle charging points "

was the opening 15 words from an email advertising another training course.

so i was wondering when is this latest update going to happen to BS7671 and does that mean new books?

This is a little while off yet!

However, yes it will included electric vehicle charging points in line with our European "Cousins" regulations.

This is the NIC on their marketing bandwagon.

However, again, IF you are looking into making this part of your business, then it may pay you to take the course, depending on your background, training and experience, as you can add this as one of your USP's.

I have had an email from a mate who sits on a CIBSE committee saying that Amendment 2 regarding this along with a copy of the draft. this wiil be due to come in force 1st May next year.

so NIC are doing a course in something that hasnt yet been published

as a side note, im now offering a 19th ed update course for only £399.99. limited places. discounted to £499.99 for 5DW's. Any takers?

However, Amd2 has been requested NOT to be new book, though I doubt this will happen!

It is doubtful that it will be completed by May next year also.

Th DPC may be out in May, but the final published version will be later I suspect.

I'll ask to see what I can find out, but, no promises.

I'm sorry, but does fitting an outside socket NEED a revision of the regs?

Okay it may not be any "normal" socket, but it is after all, just an outside socket. I can't see why we all need to spend more dosh on new books etc again, just so we might know how to fit a special outside socket.

Madness.

I sincerely hope that there is a new course out that we will all have to go on, so that we can hone our skills with regard to the new regs.

After all it's only money?!?!?!?!?!!?

I've been at it too long I think Sharpy , and someones taking the p1$$ out of us but I'm not sure who TBH .

Life used to so much simpler...... a time of crawling through ditches and hedgerows like William Brown and the Outlaws with Jumble the dog in tow ... when the sun always shone ......a new Famous Five adventure to look forward to ...... banks were respectable .... Steptoe was still a little girl back in the old country ........ Aston Villa won matches and there was only one TV channel to chose from....and most important of all .. if you got home with grazed knees, covered in mud, pushing a mangled bike , cold , hungry ..Mom & Dad would still be there to make it right again . OOh must have something in my eye again :Blushing :coat

Oh and Jimmy Saville was on Radio Luxemburg with his late night " Teen and Twenty Disc Club" You could win a visit to the studio with him ....Eh !! Hows about that then guys 'n gals !!!
