I have only got the amended GN3 a few months ago, ext year there could eb another.

buying the digital set for £200-300 and getting free updates would be cheaper then new books all the time

(will also need an ipad)

Well I've had enough of all these white collar nerds thinking about how they can line their pockets and keep themselves employed while putting us under yet more strain trying to earn a living. I'm not buying anymore books or courses I've had enough, I'm going to join the ever growing army of those who buy nothing, still earn a good living and put my middle finger up to the white collar brigade, we must be the most over regulated trade on the planet. :red card

Steve you dont understand, it's harmonisation don't you know, makes it easy for our foreign cousins to come and join us, as apparently we need all the help that we can get.

Personally I'd suggest that the muppets involved in writing the regs get it right the first time, could you imagine the hassle is get if it took me 17 attempts to get it right!!

I accept that there may need to be updates due to new technology, but to rewrite/reprint the entire book that's ridiculous. A simpler book for the new info could be produced and charged at a fraction of the price, after all not all of us will entertain all things electrical, so should have the option to buy what we need when we need it. The trouble with the existing method is that the muppets that advertise most jobs will insist on being qualified to 17th and 2 or 18th ( if that's what it is going to be called), when the reality is the nature of the work they advertise for may not need the knowledge of the update.

Still what do I know I'm only hired help, or so it seems!

My feelings precisely Steve . Compared to other trades other than gas I suppose. I'd like to see some legislation covering builders TBH ..........I could have my van lettered "Evans Builders " and as if by magic I'm a builder .
