Following from a discussion the other day where it appears that many of us ,when children , went through a period of being afraid of the lion that lived under their bed .

Myself included.

Did anyone else have this strange notion ?

I'm so glad I had the lion under my bed as a kid, coz it killed the witch in the wardrobe ;)

Loved that as a kid, it was a classic, thanks for bringing memory's I had as a kid :)

I was sure we had a ghost outside my window for years until I grew up and realised it was the noise from the radiator under the window and we just had some dodgy plumbing. :|

Kids do have these strange ideas, I , and others I found, would feel the need to walk to school without treading on any cracks between the paving slabs, this would go on until you met a classmate and suddenly it was unimportant.

Memories flooding now , was also greeted almost every morning by the cat from 5 doors down , who would wait for me on the gatepost .

We used to allways play marbles on the way to school,

Ask a kid what a marble is and he probably wouldn't have a clue.

Cricket !! Is that it....cricket ! No lions...witches..ghosts...cracks in the pavement...marlies...friendly neighbourhood cats ? ;)

Just think ! We all walked to school on our own ... they hadn't invented paedophiles back then ..amazingly there were only 3 cars in our street , two belonged to traveling salesmen and one to a car dealer .

With Secondary school it was paper round first , round ended near school luckily, hands black with the print from a bagfull of Birmingham Mails, then the evening round

Hmm, If I was a betting man id wager that on the rare occasions when there is more than one note in your wallet, they are in denomination order and the queens head (gawd bless'er) all face the same way......... :)
