Hi,

I need to replace my light switches and I have a new one gang two way switch with three terminals. I removed the existing switch to find it has four terminals. L1, L2, 3 and 4. It is fed from two twin and earth cables. Checking this out with the meter I have found that the switch crosses over the terminals when operated. Am I right in assuming the new switch is not correct and I need an intermediate switch?

Thanks

Thanks, another trip to B&Q required and I bet they don't have one! Trouble is I have fitted all the other matching sockets and switches

What make did you use? B&Q may only stock a limited range so you can probably find one somewhere else to match if required.

Hi, no particular make, just  glossy black switches and sockets to match what was already in some parts of the kitchen. Luckily B&Q had a matching intermediate switch so all sorted now, thanks.
