Somewhere on this forum I remeber a post about wiring a 3 phase RCD for use on a single phase supply. Can anyone point me to it or enlighten me as to how about doing the above (it's a trick I've not had to do before so wanted to double check before commiting heinous crime. More importantly it will save enough money for a beer and a curry :D )

providing both L&N go thru RCD, you should be fine.

only possible problem is the test button may be accross 2 phases, so now will either not be connected (4 pole), or only have 230v (3 pole) instead of 400, so may not have enough 'fault' current to trip it

most 3 phase rcd's that I have used have a diagram on the side which tells you which phase needs to have power for the test button. make sure you wire throught this pole and the neutral into the neutral terminal.

, you can purchase adaptors to link the poles.
Spend money when I can strip a bit of cable out of FTE :innocent

I do keep all sorts of links from CUs just in case, failing that I have a pack of fence staples in the garden :slap
