If its like my local homebase there is always a pvc sales rep set up next to these boards which means people don't hang about to look at your board cus they wanna dodge the pvc vulture.

Well, after such positive feedback I have sent the sales rep a message declining his offer and also took pleasure in telling him he seemingly has a product in which the reputation isn't good. Will concentrate my efforts elsewhere in future. Cheers for the help chaps
Too right Cirrus...

as Ian also says

Well done Cirrus - for having the sense to ask for the well valued opinions of the forum members Applaud Smiley

UNFORTUNATELY - I didn't :( and am struggling to pay the horrendous monthly fee of

I did the same thing with Wickes.

Sales guy promised that the staff are trained to recommend you to customers, high visibilty, etc.

I went in one evening in my fully logo'd T-shirt and jacket and asked the girl on the tills if she could recommend an electrican (I expected to be pointed in the direction of the buisness cards). Her response was... 'the one who rewired my house was allright'

And then she got both barrels !!!

Personally I'm looking forward to hearing from the rep when the renewal is due.

I would not be waiting for the renewal to fall due..... I'd be more likely to be waiting for Head Office door to open for business the following day!! God help the CEO..... no one else would be able to!!

Have you gained any good work from it since starting it?

I went in my newly opened local Toolstation depot and they have a peg-board where you just put your business card on it and its FREE :^O

Yeah, tried that but it is a min of 2 yrs
Ergo it must be crap becuase if it really workd they wouldn't want a 2 year deal. Not so long ago the tie in was 6 months, but also ask your self this: if you wanted a spark or plumber where would you look??? Notice boards at DIY stores, probaly not because as Andy pointed out you only go there to DIY. Now, if the deal was to fit stuff for B&Q then that would be a different issue.
