don’t waste your money on the code breakers book - that is what is causing a lot of these issues
The issue is people with no experience or competence. Following any Guide no matter who produces it leads to a blind acceptance as opposed to treating each issue with knowledge and experience and with this you can provide a sound judgement.

not sure I agree with you.

prodave hit the nail on the head with his comment above.

The issues facing landlords is who can they trust ? And as it stands sparks are like economists, ask 10, get 15 opinions

what do you make of the issues outlined by the OP?

Not sure how it can be compared to a car MOT I just don't see a comparison as for the consumer unit cover I thought being from a senior member it was a wind up.

Nope the Heff doesn’t do wind up!
Okay I'm none too knowledgeable of the members. I would definitely be confronting the individual who applied a C2 to that and if they cannot give a sound reason for the issue warranting urgent attention to insist on a revised Report.

Yes I did. But genuinely appreciate your help - thanks!

I've literally only just found it. Sorry, 12 modules so 10 way plus the main switch. 300w x 225h. You could have had it for the postage.

I think i posted a while back when I passed an EICR with original Wylex fuse boxes.

There were three of them in the house, each had 6 circuits and each had an RCD as the main switch, the first time I have ever seen an RCD in those.  They were all steel and all had plug in MCB's so being metal rcd and MCB's nothing to even comment on.

Yeah but a UrineTube pretty boy wannabe Spark would give it a C1

Finally got in to attend to this today. Only damage the CU was one hinge snapped off. Flap would actually stay securely closed via the one good hinge and the top catch! No real danger here at all.

Changed front cover for new one from eBay and remedied other C2s.

Thanks everyone!

Ironically, the "inspector" didn't secure the front cover properly and left a gap all along the top edge 🤣🤣
