It's gone very quiet round here, nobody changing light fittings ending up with more wires than anticipated, nobody changing switches with different terminals, no diy'ers nailing cables to the wall etc, where is everybody?

My View:
As Binky points out "It goes through phases" I am on several forums (who isn't?) Summer time is generally quieter as people go on holybobs, gardening (DIY) jobs tend to go up, as do enquiries, outside lights only get attention when it's dark, also as a general rule, forums as a whole are becoming less popular, one forum I am on gets 1-2 new posts/week

You can also send people private messages to check in on them. Friends online are still friends and if your IRL friend disappeared you'd reach out right?

Just a thought.

Oh my.. Gosh.. Wow.. You must be getting a bit out of touch John...?

Surely it is quiet on here because everyone is now very busy reading all of the recently published manifesto documents?
and it is quite a lot of reading to do.. So no time for trivial posting on forums..
(Even if the hall lights do only work now if the kettle is unplugged, after uncle Jim wired up the new hot tub!!)

We all have some big decisions to make on 4 July...
So I just assumed it was normal to read every source of information relating to all possible options from all political parties..
before casting your vote???? 🤔

Or was that a dream.... Bit like the one about all wiring reg's updates offering improvements over previous issues and are error free, fully checked, before publication??

However on a positive note...
The manifesto's are available for FREE download...
https://voteforpolicies.org.uk/blog/manifestos-for-the-2024-uk-general-election/

Which is something BS7671 wiring regs could learn from..
(Once you have purchased an official copy ALL future updates / amendments should be free-of-charge..
which may actually reduce the number of updates as the Cash-Cow principal will be cut-off!)

Just pondering and guessing? 🍺🍻🍺🥂🍻🥂🍺🍺🍷🥃

Highly likely

Sunak & Co dont deserve my vote because of their in fighting from the end of Boris's reign, theyre like squabbling kids, Starmer is a complete non starter, he's a complete idiot, Farage whilst I cant stand the man he does actually talk a reasonable talk but has little chance of winning the election so I'd probably be wasting a vote here. I almost lay awake at night mulling this one over. I'm thinking that my strategy has to be, keeping starmer out and where to place my tactical vote to achieve this

Sounds like you need to decide who is a decent local candidate. I'm quite lucky in that Luke Pollard is decent, active, and lives in my ward. In fact he's one of two candidates that actually live in Plymouth, both Labour. I would rather be voting Green, but some prat from Bristol doesn't cut it with me. Starmer doesn't fill me with joy, he's such a grey sort of person, but at least he us talking about politicians serving the public, and old fashioned attitude that has been sadly lacking for decades.

As for reform, when their head guy talks about the current Tories as being socialists, you have to be worried just how right wing they are. They have some interesting financial ideas, but can't help feeling those would make Truss look sensible, and just crash the economy again.

Need to bring in PR of some sort, might be able to vote for my true beliefs for once.
