Cant have had this driver 2 months and I swear I have only used it for 2nd fixing sockets, switches etc. Purposefully tried to make it last as I'm sick of buying drivers.

Anyway, for those that cannot view the pics........... it snapped.

Do these come with any sort of warranty?

My local wholesaler has had a huge return on these tools blamed on a faulty batch, I have changed mine around 4-5 times, they always break, get them replaced, they break and so on...... Take it back and change it

I had the same thing with the cu drivers  totally pants

bought them at elex Cov

Unfortunately I've also had this happen (several times) in each case I've taken it back to the wholesalers who have replaced it (no receipt although I am a regular customer)

The driver which has surprised me is a Bacho one that I have,,, it has a really thin blade which splays at the end to 3.5 or 4mm,,, it feels like it'll snap in a heart beat but it hasn't

Why not use today's receipt to take back the old broken one. .? Give it a couple of weeks to get grubby.....

Just deceiving.........well not really
That's a plan.

Was looking at those. They looked a bit shoddy. I guess you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover.

Well i had been holding back but................the CK cutters i won here are pants. I havent used them much as i cant get on with the stripping notches on the blades, but when you squeeze tight the jaws have already loosened enough that they pass by each other. I was going to email them but hope they read it here. They also havent replied to why the notches are at the bottom of the blades and not at the top, is it just me that would prefer them like that ?

I brought a box set of wera ones from SF they werabout  £20 + VAT they do seem stronger than the CK ones. I do use CK but when they break I blame it on myself for using the wrong size.

Wera screwdrivers are definately much stronger and I like the diamond tips which grip really well.  I think the first set I had were free with a wylex consumer unit, then I purchased another set at Elex

However I do like CK combicutters apart from when I blew a hole in them and so they can now easily strip 6mm cable!  OOPS!

Old man rant time................................... They were better in the good old days. It was almost impossible to break a screwdriver and the tips never snapped. I can only remember neon type drivers shafts coming loose from the handles and the really cheap driver sets from the markets being crap, everything else was great.

Who made the drivers with the yellowy-golden plastic handles ? You could use them as a chisel and then after for doing up fine screws .

Edit, was it Record ?

Could have been CK, Paramo, Footprint....they all made drivers for BT ( I still have some, look on eBay to see what they sell for!.....£32 for two second hand drivers!)

.....strangely these are marked up as Knipex when they are in fact Draper in the pics.
I think certain Knipex items are also marketed as Draper Expert (or maybe vice versa) depending on geographical location.

I own a couple of CK modulo type screwdrivers and I'v had them over 2 years without issues, maybe the broken screwdrivers above are a brittle batch that were over-hardened.
